Bambling On and On and On...

Confused

The other night there was a lightening bug hovering outside of our dining room window. It looked as though it really, REALLY wanted to get inside. Looking around I instantly realized why.

The plug attached to my laptop turns green when fully powered. Poor lil' lightening bug thought it was a friend? Potential mate? Either way, it needed to get to that light NOW.

After about a minute of watching this scene, I couldn't take it anymore. I blocked the plug light with a magazine. It only took our lil' friend a few seconds to realize the friend/mate went away -- so it left as well.

Silly lil' bug.

Verklempt

She's back. Just when I thought all was lost.. on October 13, her face will be all over the MCI Center. Oh I'm so conflicted. Do I pay my mortgage? Or should I spend the $725 + $67 (fee) to see Barbara Streisand perform.

You heard correctly. For a mere $800, you can see Barbara up close. Sure there are cheaper tickets, but this could be her final performance. Her FINAL. PERFORMANCE. Oh, those past "final performances" were just a warm-up for something bigger, better and more expensive than ever before. Oh yes, this... this, my friends... this time it's FINAL.

I tremble at the thought that I might possibly miss the moment where she sweats her last bead o' sweat in front of a live audience. I have a test tube with her name on it just waiting for that drop. My mortgage company is sure to understand. It's BARBARA STREISAND.

I heard that il Divo will be touring with her. Bah, as if they'll have a chance to sing. Barbara has so many songs and so little time to reconnect with her fans. il Divo, if you're listening, you might want to leave a CD at the door.

*sigh*

Thinking about Ms. Streisands tour, one word keeps popping into my mind:

RETIREMENT

Seriously, Barbara, think about it. (and I do hope that money is going towards charity.)

Podulicious

I'm grooving so hard at work, thanks to my friend Lisa. She's introduced me to Buzzlife Buzzcast. What's got my humps boppin' in my seat is DJ Dan's Tribute to James Brown (1993). w00t! w00t!

Now that scuzz.. i mean Buzz.. is closing down, they've started posting rare and old mixes from 'back in the day'. Like, mixes you could only listen to on tape. CD's didn't exist.. it was all tape. And you know that your one copy was played a quadrilliion times and had become so worn out you're now afraid to play it anymore because that next play could be its last. *sniff-sniff*

So yeah.. I'm dying over here because not only am I being brought back to when I first started raving, but the mixes are GOOD. ACE. AMAZING. JAW-DROPPING!! Ok.. perhaps I'm going overboard. But still, listening to these masters gives me a great appreciation for what I was fortunate to become a part of back in '93/'94. Not just the music, but the entire atmosphere.

Ahhh.. *display dream effects here*

Ok.. enough of that. Back to boppin' while I work.

Hot!

It's so hot when I hear my husband clearing the dishes from the dishwasher. YES!! OH GOD.. YES!
