Bambling On and On and On...

Changing of Seasons

I love fall because of the colors and the cooler weather. The trees begin sporting all sorts of yellow, orange and red leaves, placing themselves against the deep green of the other leaves and a pinkish-blue sky that happens at sunrise and sunset. Then the air begins to dry out and have that crisp clean smell. The temperature is similar to spring, giving me the opportunity to wear my tanks or a sweater. And even though the days are starting to shorten, the sun doesn't set too early. Fall (and Spring) make me happy. Maybe it's because the season is all about moderation, a concept I've been slowly learning over the years.

Unfortunately, I don't look forward to the end of fall when the leaves WON'T STOP FALLING!! Not that it isn't pretty to watch, in a dark way. It's all because of my OCD. Just when I feel good having cleaned-up 1/4 of the yard, more leaves magically make their way onto the exposed grass, which in turn makes me compelled to rake that area again. and again. and again. Until the only area i've actually touched in the past 4 hours is that one corner of the backyard where the leaves won't stop falling.

Hopefully I have a few weeks before that fun starts. In the meantime, I'm going enjoy nature as it prepares for winter.
