Bird Population Taking Care of Itself

Not sure what's in the water around here, but every day for the past month at least 2 birds have been flying into either my front or back window. Most survive, a few do not. I am sad to report that we have our second official bird death. Not more than five minutes ago I heard a loud "THWUMP"! I got up to walk to the living room where a blob of feathers remain plastered against the window. The body, gone. Dinner for the neighborhood cats I'm sure. *shiver* Ewww.
