A Request From A Confused Shopper

Dear Women's Clothing Manufacturers,

The other day I ventured out to purchase a few non-maternity pants. The experience left me confused and quite put out. Why do you insist on distorting a women's perception of reality by using arbitrary numbers as the actual pant/dress size? Especially when we know that these sizes do not represent the same amount of fabric that went into making said size a couple of years ago. In case you haven't caught my drift, more material is being used for the same number size. And why would I think this? Two words: double-zero (00). That's right, a size 00. I always wondered how a size 0 could exist when 0 means nothing and those wearing a size 0 probably aren't real. Now we're manufacturing clothes for a double-non-real person. What gives?

I'm suggesting that you start converting these 00, 2, 4, 8, etc., into waist, hip and inseam measurements. This would not only make all of our lives easier, but would also allow us to shop at all stores. As it stands now, most of us usually get bitch-slapped by various clothes stores because Store A's size 'X' is actually smaller than Store B's size 'X', which shouldn't be since they are both size 'X'. Currently, men shop by their measurements, so it shouldn't be too hard to manufacture and label women's clothes by measurements too.

Thank you.
